Openreach are part of the BT Group, but maintain a heavily regulated position ensuring fair and transparent supply of the BT network across all providers. In simple terms it allows ICUK and it's resellers to operate competitively against far larger and established players including BT Retail. We have access to the same appointment slots for faults and installations, and engineers who attend have no idea as to the service provider they are acting on behalf of. Without this firm we would not be able to operate in this market place as confidently as we do. There is no other country in the world with an equivalent setup.
Lines can be easily transferred from any other line provider. This includes not just BT based lines, but from LLU providers too. Placing the order takes minutes to complete within our portal which then provides automated visibility of its progress. Transfers complete on a like-for-like basis ensuring all numbers and features remain intact, and with no disruption to the end user.
Placing orders is carried out through our portal which has been designed to remove you from lots of the technical complications of placing orders direct with Openreach. We make it as painless as possible, leaving us to interact with some of the archaic and problematic systems we have to use with Openreach. We grant resellers access to the same Openreach diagnostics that we have access to. This allows you to complete real time tests on phone lines for a multitude of different faults. Simply find select the fault type and a test is run. Regardless of the fault result you can still escalate the issue for further investigation or to book an appointment.
This is an extremely powerful and useful tool that allows you to review details about an existing phone line prior to transferring it. Using the CLI (phone number) and the associated postcode, you are able to obtain details about the line including its type and associated features. This makes the process of quoting that much simpler.
Another powerful tool that allows you to query the Openreach databases. It allows you to obtain address information using limited information. For example, if you have a post code, you can pull up all associated addresses. As a secondary feature you can check on the existence of a working or stopped line, and any available capacity associated with said address.
